MATTER AND SHAPE 2025: A SHOWCASE OF CUTTING-EDGE DESIGN IN PARIS

Held from March 7 to 10, 2025, Matter and Shape 2025 was a landmark design event in the heart of Paris, celebrated in the iconic Jardin des Tuileries. Marking the centenary of the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, the exhibition brought together a rich history of design innovation while pushing the boundaries of creativity.

With over 50 exhibitors spanning a range of design disciplines—from industrial design and interiors to fashion and decorative arts—the event was a true celebration of global talent. Some of the standout participants included Akua Objects (Denmark), Daisuke Yamamoto (Japan), Dorothée Potocka (Poland), Transparent (Sweden), Lobmeyr featuring Gohar World (Austria), WePlus (Japan), FAINA (Ukraine), and Waiting For Ideas (France), just to name a few.

Curated by Matthieu Pinet and Dan Thawley, the exhibition’s design was brought to life by Canadian architect Willo Perron of Perron-Roettinger Studio. Two striking, mirror-clad pavilions blended effortlessly with the surrounding gardens, creating an immersive experience that blurred the lines between architecture, design, and nature.

Beyond the stunning displays, Matter and Shape 2025 offered more than just visual inspiration. Attendees could enjoy a curated series of amenities, including a pop-up restaurant, a design shop, and a café, alongside engaging design talks that brought together industry leaders for meaningful discussions. These elements combined to create a truly multi-sensory experience.

In all, Matter and Shape 2025 was a spectacular showcase of both emerging and established design talents, reaffirming Paris’s position as a key global hub for innovative design.
